Why Shopify specifically?
For most small UK retailers, Shopify is the simplest, most reliable option. It handles hosting, security, payments, and inventory out of the box. There are cheaper paths (like using Stripe buy-buttons on a standard website — see our work with HanifShiwani.com), and more flexible ones (WooCommerce on WordPress), but Shopify is the right default for anyone serious about selling online.
What are Shopify's own costs?
You pay Shopify directly for the platform — UK prices start at around £25/month for Basic, £65/month for Shopify (Grow), and several hundred a month for Advanced. Billed in GBP for UK customers. Check shopify.co.uk/pricing for current rates as they change occasionally.
Do I need to provide product photos and descriptions?
Yes — you supply photos, titles and descriptions for each product. We load them into Shopify, configure the store around them, and handle the technical setup. If you genuinely can't do copy or photography, we can point you to people who do that well.
Can you handle wholesale/B2B or subscriptions?

What if I just want to sell a few items without paying Shopify monthly?
For a small number of products (say under 20) or digital goods, you can use Stripe's hosted checkout with buy-buttons on a regular website — zero monthly platform fees, just Stripe's transaction rates. That's what we did for HanifShiwani.com. Not right for everyone, but significantly cheaper if it fits.
